Classical Music Composer, Musician
2005 (25 minutes)
A five movement suite for symphony orchestra that reflects the uncomplicated American psyche and the simple American dream: specifically the vision and labor of James Walker Tufts to change land which had been laid to waste by logging into to the beauty of the now famous Pinehurst Resort. More universally it depicts the dream that each of us has in our youth. From the work to fulfill that dream and the anxiety and tension surrounding everyday life to the golden years of our lives and the mourning of dear ones who died too early.
The work can be played in its entirety or each of movements 2 – 5 may be performed separately.
Excerpts from Sketches from Pinehurst
