Sundays at Shackleford Banks

2006 (10 minutes)

A musical picture of one of North Carolina’s treasures, the Outer Banks. One of the islands, Shackleford Banks, is accessible only by boat and this piece is inspired by the composer’s visits to the island as a child. The imagination of a ten year old boy turns this placid Sunday outing into an adventure filled sojourn complete with wild. horses, rough surf and invading pirates which are fought off bravely and victoriously by the youngster.
